The name ERITAGE has its origin in the old French language back in the 13th century and it means transmission, taking us to the source, to the origin of the human species on Planet Earth. We want to revisit the past and learn from the roots, moving towards a more balanced and sustainable future.
A ERITAGE nasce em Lisboa após um processo criativo de quatro anos vivido através da galeria wozen, entre 2016 e 2019. O nome ERITAGE tem a sua origem no Francês antigo do século XIII e significa herança sob uma perspectiva social, cultural e espiritual.
ERITAGE rises naturally after a 4-year creative process lived through the eyes of Wozen, between 2016 - 2019. The name ERITAGE has its origin in the old French language back in the 13th century and it means heritage from a social, cultural and spiritual perspectives.
Trabalhamos para criar, à partir de manifestações artísticas, uma consciência coletiva livre, igualitária e focada na disseminação de modos de vida mais harmoniosos e sustentáveis em relação à natureza e nossa própria sociedade.
We have then built up on the principle of Conscious Art to artistically breed an egalitarian collective mind, focused on the dissemination of a more harmonious and sustainable way of life towards nature and society itself.
Nosso propósito é agir dentro da comunidade local como um espaço de apresentação e desenvolvimento de ideias, baseado em uma estrutura horizontal, de forma a estimular novas interações por meio da produção artística compartilhada.
Our purpose is to turn the local community into a plataform for the democratically structured presentation and promotion of ideas, in order to stimulate new cooperation through shared artistic production.
Somos uma galeria experimental em busca de novos formatos e processos criativos, que priorizem pioneirismo e originalidade na formação de pensamentos. Debatemos e desenvolvemos projetos e exposições junto aos artistas envolvidos. Mesmo dentro da prática de carreiras já estabelecidas, trabalhamos para encontrar soluções criativas, que forneçam o máximo suporte possível com o mínimo de tempo e recursos necessários. Procuramos a união de uma visão inovadora com um processo inteligente.
We are an innovative gallery, in search of new formats and creative process which prioritize pioneering and originality in the development of thoughts. We discuss and organize projects and exhibitions along with the artists involved. We work to find creative solutions that provide maximum support with the minimum amount of time and resources required. We seek the combination of an innovative vision with an intelligent process.
A ERITAGE situa-se no centro da capital Portuguesa, em frente ao Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (MNAA), o que nos inspira a criar um espaço aberto ao diálogo intercultural, valorizando a diversidade de indivíduos, ideias e origens. Queremos assim desmistificar a imagem tradicional das galerias de arte, reduzindo as barreiras entre galeristas, artistas, público e coleccionadores.
ERITAGE is located in the Portuguese capital, in front of MNAA (National Museum of Ancient Art), inspiring us to create a space open to intercultural dialogue, valuing diversity of styles, ideas and origins. This way, we want to demystify the image of traditional galleries, diluting barriers between gallerists, artists, general public and art collectors.
Com uma abordagem mais próxima e participativa, incentivamos os visitantes a não se acomodarem no papel de audiência, mas a se envolverem em nosso cotidiano. Para tal, encorajamos a participação das famílias, gerando um ponto de aproximação entre pais e filhos, que constantemente ultrapassa o espaço da galeria e se insere em definitivo na rotina familiar, o núcleo central de todas as comunidades.
With a friendly and inviting atmosphere, we motivate visitors not to go for the well-known role of audience, but to get involved in our work activities, instead. We always encourage the participation of families in the projects, bringing parents and children closer together. The experience constantly exceeds the boundaries of the gallery itself and settles definitively in the bosom of the family, the core structure of all communities.
Desta forma, desenvolvemos projectos artísticos que promovam experiências capazes de dissolver as fronteiras entre o artista e o público, entre a obra e o espectador, com propósito estimular uma nova percepção ética, de participação, coletividade, e mudança.
Therefore, we develop artistic projects in order to promote experiences capable of dissolving the boundaries between the artist and the public, between the work and the spectator, with the purpose of stimulating a new ethical perception, of participation, collectivity, and change.
Acreditamos que uma galeria tem a responsabilidade ética e social de promover a diversidade cultural, num ambiente inclusivo onde género, cor, expressão e crenças possam co-existir no mesmo espaço, suportando-nos individual e colectivamente.
We believe that art galleries have the ethical and social responsibilities of promoting diversity of expressions in an inclusive environment, where gender, colour, and beliefs can co-exist smoothly. This way, it can support both the individual and the collective.
